• Dragon Well Tea (or Long Jing Tea in Chinese) from the West Lake area of Zhejiang province of China, is the most famous tea and one of China’s top three green teas.  Many Westerners call it as Lung Ching Tea in English. This tea has high bud sets and flat, tender, and very aromatic and distinct tasting profile. Farmers pickle, pan-fire and shape it as sword- like by using 10-step hand process from start to finish. The firing of the leaf is the step that requires the most finesse. Dragon Well Tea gives a light emerald liquor with a full, chestnut-like flavor or nutty aroma, and astounding scent.
• The legend of its name comes from a story in the ancient China when the farmers of the Hangzhou region had been praying for rain. Shortly after praying, they actually found a dragon in a well, which was next to a tea garden. In addition, dragon is a symbol of good fortune and prosperity in Eastern traditions. This tea had been an exclusive tribute tea for royal families in ancient China for decades.
